Topic: “Motivations and Solutions for a Better World

Abstract: Globalization of economies, population growth, and the spread of affluence accelerate the need for sustainable practices. Power to drive the economy, and to feed the people, is heavily dependent on finite resources. To avoid a tipping point mankind needs large-scale, renewable sources of cost-effective energy. And soon. This talk presents a bold, comprehensive, integrated energy strategy based on a number of novel technical developments which are just now being brought together. Come learn about how space solar power can supply baseload needs, and how an offshoot of this technology enables farmers to use crop waste to displace fossil fuel use. See how silicon can be harvested from plant material to make solar panels as well as hydrogen storage. Find out the latest in waste-to-energy technology, and other advances which will transform how you look at the world around you. A better world is the goal. First we need the vision, then we need the technology, and now, we need to act. Learn how you can help future generations enjoy a sustainable economy with food and energy enough for all of us.
